Northern Southeast Alaska and the Yukon are world famous for incredible wildlife viewing opportunities. Strong salmon runs of all 5 species and the nearby largest protected wilderness areas on the planet combine to offer ideal locations to view brown bears, eagles, whales, moose and other Alaska wildlife.

Along the coast and waterways of the longest and deepest Fjord in North America, we'll spot humpback whales, orca, stellar sea lions, and a plethora of migratory birds as we take in the towering peaks and granite walls of the Lynn Canal. The rivers that feed into the fjord are an ecological lifeblood of the region. We're likely to spot brown bears along the banks of the Chilkoot River, feeding on salmon, and an abundance of bald eagles and moose on the Chilkat River within the Bald Eagle Preserve. The Gustavus region offers guests some of the best whale watching in Icy Strait and the mouth of Glacier Bay. A journey into Glacier Bay gives visitors a great platform to capture sea otters, mountain goats, sea lions and bears amidst the peaks and glaciers. A visit to the interior, up and over the mountain passes from Skagway or Haines, offers a varied landscape with ptarmigan, golden eagles, and black bears and incredible open tundra with abundant wildflowers.

Our unique wildlife focused itineraries are oriented to make the most of daily forays to see, experience and appreciate the abundant wildlife of the region. Our itineraries allow for flexibility to pause and take advantage of serendipitous wildlife encounters.
